Hudson Valley UFO Wave
For four years, over 5,000 witnesses reported massive V-shaped or boomerang-shaped craft with multicolored lights slowly cruising over New York's Hudson Valley. Police switchboards overloaded. The craft was sometimes football-field sized. No explanation was ever found.

The Wave
From 1982 to 1986, thousands of witnesses over four years reported sightings in Hudson Valley, NY, Westchester County, and near the Connecticut border.
The Craft
Consistent descriptions depicted a V-shaped or boomerang craft the size of a football field with multicolored lights. It moved very slowly with a silent or low hum.
The Sightings
Key events included March 1983 when 300+ calls flooded police. Traffic stopped on I-84, the Taconic Parkway saw multiple sightings, New York Thruway reports came in, and mass observations occurred.
The Witnesses
Who reported: police officers, airline pilots, scientists, and thousands of residents. All gave consistent accounts.
The Investigation
Research involved Dr. J. Allen Hynek, Philip Imbrogno conducted extensive research, and the book “Night Siege” was written. No conventional explanation was found, and the ultralight theory was rejected.
Legacy
Impact includes being one of the largest US waves, being well-documented with multiple researchers and credible witnesses. It was never explained.
