The Chase Vault is a burial vault in Barbados where coffins were repeatedly found in disarray.
The Mystery
According to documented accounts, between 1812 and 1820, lead coffins were found moved each time the vault was opened with no sign of forced entry.
The Investigation
Lord Combermere had the vault sealed and sand placed on the floor. The coffins were again disturbed, yet the sand showed no footprints.
